Robotics with state-of-the-art technology
At the VAMED Rehazentrum Zürich Seefeld, our patients can expect highly advanced infrastructure. We use cutting-edge technology with robot- and sensor-based training equipment, providing optimal training conditions. Technology-assisted therapies, particularly robot-assisted movement therapy, have become the standard in neurorehabilitation over recent years.
Thanks to these therapy devices, highly repetitive movement therapies are possible. This enhances and facilitates motor learning and neural reorganization, ultimately leading our patients to improved quality of life and independence. Depending on the rehabilitation stage, various devices are utilized to target specific goals. We complement the array of modern technologies with conventional therapy equipment and training materials.
Legworld
The Lokomat is the most extensively studied device in robot-assisted rehabilitation. Studies have demonstrated that training on the Lokomat is safe and effective across a wide range of individuals. With the Lokomat, individuals can train their walking ability, even if they are significantly restricted due to conditions like multiple sclerosis or stroke. The device is also suitable for individuals with spinal cord injuries who have limited to no control over their lower limbs. In such cases, training can lead to neuroplastic changes and secondary benefits such as regulation of bowel and bladder function. Even patients who have largely regained their walking ability can be appropriately challenged with the Lokomat.
The C-Mill facilitates effective and efficient functional gait therapies. It helps patients prepare for everyday environments and changing circumstances. An example of this is moving in a crowded area with people or avoiding obstacles. By utilizing virtual reality through projections onto the treadmill and integrating a force measurement plate, the usual limitations of traditional therapy setups can be overcome. Virtual reality provides the opportunity to offer intrinsic and extrinsic multisensory feedback in real time, enabling task variation through the use of various virtual environments that simulate real-life daily tasks and conditions.
The DD System ELITE is a modern, pneumatically operated leg press. The focus is on building strength and improving the coordinative abilities of the lower limbs. With customized training protocols, each leg can be targeted separately as well.
The Dividat training device employs playful elements to facilitate effective balance and reaction training. This enhances stability while standing and walking. Developed by Dividat GmbH, the device consists of a floor plate with integrated sensors that measure targeted weight shifts, steps and balance. Patients follow a predefined sequence of movements on a screen and replicate them using their feet on the base plate. The plate measures force effects and provides immediate virtual feedback. These tasks playfully link physical activities with cognitive tasks, thus training the intake, processing and transmission of stimuli. Several recent research articles demonstrate that this combined cognitive-motor training positively impacts gait stability and reduces the risk of falls.
The Myosuit is an assistive device for individuals with weak legs. For patients who have a relatively stable gait, it can be compared to an e-bike. For patients with more pronounced walking limitations, it’s akin to a bicycle with training wheels. The soft exosuit provides personalized support and strength to the hip area and legs to enhance mobility. It allows patients to cover longer distances more securely – whether independently or with assistance.
The unique pneumatic resistance system Natural Transmission ensures optimal muscle loading throughout the range of motion. All HUR machines are pneumatically powered and offer the advantage of starting with near-zero resistance and then increasing gradually and very gently.
The Standing is designed to mobilize immobile individuals with neurological issues into an upright position. Standing has a positive effect on bone density, blood circulation, joints, respiration, cardiovascular system and digestion. In addition, this helps stretch the muscles.
As a wearable exoskeleton, the Ekso NR enables unrestricted movement within a space. As with the Lokomat, even patients with complete paralysis can begin highly repetitive gait training with it. However, the focus is on training appropriate weight shifting and thus training perception and balance. The Ekso NR is made by Ekso Bionics.
Armworld
The Myro is an interactive therapy system for the upper limbs, utilizing virtual touch applications combined with real objects. Myro therapy provides both unilateral and bilateral training of gross and fine motor skills. Through playful interactions, it also enhances concentration, coordination and visual-spatial perception training.
The Dessintey therapy device is suitable for motion observation, motor imagery and mirror therapy. Specific visuomotor neurons are involved in both vision and action planning, as well as movement generation. Whenever we observe someone performing a movement, our brain immediately and effortlessly simulates the same movement. This process can aid rehabilitation. Rehabilitation goals include improving motor recovery, reducing spasticity, treating hemineglect (unconscious disruption of attention to one side of the body or space) and alleviating central pain.
The ArmeoSpring supports patients by providing arm weight relief during training. This improves the performance of individuals with moderate impairment following an injury or neurological disorder.
Training with the ArmeoSenso helps people with mild arm impairment, enhancing arm strength and endurance. Active repetitive training involving movement visualization, along with objective feedback on movement quality, leads to an increase in motivation.

Catwalk
In everyday life, the ability to walk plays an important role. That is why at the VAMED Rehazentrum we put special emphasis on walking in day-to-day situations. Besides the catwalk in the center itself, we also bring our patients into contact with everyday challenges. For instance, we practice activities like shopping in a department store, taking the tram, walking by the lake or crossing a street. During these activities, patients are sometimes supported by robotic devices.
